Visit the site of
Radnor Castle
The discovery in 1845, when foundation trenches were dug for the new
church, of many headless skeletons and a separate pile of skulls
shows fairly clearly what happened to the garrison of 60 men after
Owain Glyndwr's forces captured the castle in 1402. |

Mortimer Trail
A walk through the Marches of England, taking in
extensive forests, limestone tops and gentle pastures in an
area dominated in mediaeval times by the Mortimer family, one of the most
powerful Norman earldoms. It follows a succession of hills and ridges,
crossing the valleys of the rivers Teme, Lugg and Arrow, with some
strenuous climbs. |

Judge's Lodgings
(Presteigne) ~ A remarkable, award-winning museum of the old judge's
lodging. The building has been caringly restored, is open for groups and
has an audio tour not to be missed (transcript in large print available).
